End-User License Agreement
Last updated May 9, 2026
This End-User License Agreement governs access to and use of Commentr, including the Commentr website, Framer plugin, embedded comment widgets, tenant portals, hosted APIs, setup emails, documentation, and related services. By installing, accessing, or using Commentr, you agree to this Agreement.
If you use Commentr on behalf of a company, client, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to this Agreement.
License and Access
Subject to this Agreement and payment of applicable fees, Commentr grants customers a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable right to access and use the Commentr software and hosted services for subscribed websites during the active subscription term.
Commentr is provided as a hosted subscription service. You do not receive ownership of the software, source code, infrastructure, trademarks, or other Commentr intellectual property.
Accounts, Tenant Keys, and Authorized Domains
Customers are responsible for maintaining accurate account, billing, workspace, and domain information. Tenant Keys, portal access links, verification codes, and account credentials must be kept confidential and may be used only for the customer's authorized Commentr workspaces.
Customers are responsible for configuring allowed domains correctly, limiting administrator access to authorized users, and promptly rotating keys or removing access when a key or portal account may be compromised.
Subscriptions, Billing, and Cancellation
Paid Commentr plans are billed through Stripe. Customers are responsible for all subscription fees, taxes, and charges associated with their selected plan. Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically until canceled.
Customers may manage payment methods, invoices, subscription changes, and cancellations through Stripe Checkout, Stripe Customer Portal, or other billing flows made available by Commentr. Cancellation may take effect at the end of the current billing or trial period unless Stripe or Commentr indicates otherwise. Access may be suspended or terminated for unpaid, past-due, canceled, fraudulent, or abusive accounts.
Customer Content
Customers and their website visitors retain ownership of content they submit through Commentr, including comments, display names, contact information, moderation decisions, and related website context. Customers grant Commentr a limited license to host, process, transmit, display, and store that content as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the service.
Customers are responsible for the legality, accuracy, quality, moderation, and handling of Customer Content, and for providing any required notices, consents, or legal bases to website visitors.
Acceptable Use
Customers and users may not use Commentr to submit, host, or facilitate unlawful, infringing, deceptive, harassing, defamatory, abusive, hateful, sexually exploitative, malicious, or harmful content. Commentr may not be used to distribute malware, spam, phishing, credential harvesting, or content that violates another party's rights.
Customers may not reverse engineer, decompile, copy, scrape, overload, bypass security or fair-use controls, interfere with the service, resell access without permission, use Commentr to build a competing service, or attempt unauthorized access to any system, account, tenant, database, API, or network.
Framer, Stripe, and Third-Party Services
Commentr may integrate with Framer, Stripe, email providers, hosting providers, database providers, and other third-party services. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Commentr is not responsible for third-party services, outages, policy changes, or marketplace decisions.
Intellectual Property and Feedback
Commentr and its licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in the service, software, interfaces, components, workflows, documentation, branding, and related intellectual property. If you provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback, you grant Commentr permission to use that feedback without restriction or compensation.
Privacy and Data Protection
Use of Commentr is also governed by the Commentr Privacy Policy. Customers are responsible for their own website privacy notices, cookie notices, user consents, data subject request processes, and compliance obligations for Customer Content and end-user information collected through their websites.
Service Changes, Suspension, and Termination
Commentr may update, improve, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service from time to time. Commentr may suspend or terminate access if a customer violates this Agreement, creates security or legal risk, fails to pay fees, exceeds fair-use limits in a harmful way, or uses the service in a way that may harm Commentr, other customers, users, or the public.
Upon termination or cancellation, the customer's right to use Commentr ends. Commentr may delete, retain, or export data as described in the Privacy Policy, applicable law, and available product functionality.
Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Commentr is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. Commentr does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with every website or Framer configuration, or that moderation will catch every harmful or unwanted comment.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Commentr will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, or loss of goodwill, even if advised that such damages are possible. Commentr's total liability for any claim will not exceed the amounts paid by the customer for Commentr during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars if no fees were paid.
Indemnity
Customers agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Commentr harmless from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from Customer Content, customer websites, violation of this Agreement, misuse of the service, infringement of third-party rights, or violation of applicable law.
Changes and Contact
Commentr may update this Agreement by posting a revised version on this page. Continued use of Commentr after an update becomes effective means you accept the updated Agreement. For support or contract questions, contact Commentr through the support address listed in your setup email or on the Commentr website.
